Best of Luck, Greeney Gooney copyright 2012 by Michael D. Smith Best of Luck, Greeney Gooney. Ink on paper, scanned and colorized, 2012. 11” x 8.5”

An autographed picture of Martian Star General Greeney Gooney (real name G’rea’nyaigu’nye, so naturally humans have mispronounced it), as the fourth novel, Collapse and Delusion, was in gestation. Note how GG was cleverly inserted into the third Jack Commer novel, Nonprofit Chronowar, as running for mayor of Marsport, thus introducing him as a major figure for the fourth novel. During the Martian War he’d run the terrorist unit that killed General Douglas in The Martian Marauders.
