Creative, well-written and full of interesting characters. The writing is precise and clean but filled with an adventureous spirit. Someone needs to crack this guys head open and see what’s going on in there! Can’t wait to read more.

Book 2.  The Benign Incursion

I love the interconnected books in this series and the world building. Lachrer is a compelling protagonist: competent and battle hardened, yet genuinely human in her guilt and her inconvenient feelings. The bureaucratic friction feels frustratingly real, which makes the cosmic backdrop all the more effective as a contrast.

The dual story lines work well together. The Counselors, six-foot Beagle-human hybrids who then show up as trial spectators, are a delightfully weird invention that captures the tone of the whole book: serious ideas delivered with a wink. Fans of character-driven space stories will enjoy this creative novel.
